The Nicobars are a group of 19 islands. They are situated between the Andaman Islands and Sumatra. Only 12 of the islands are inhabited. The major ones are Great Nicobar, Car Nicobar, Camorta, and Nancowry. Great Nicobar is the largest of the Nicobar Islands of India. Indira Point is also the southernmost point of India. The island is almost fully covered by rainforest and known for its extensive wildlife. The island is sparingly inhabited.

At 642 metres above sea level, Mount Thullier is the highest area on the Nicobars, There is a biosphere reserve known as the Great Nicobar Biosphere Reserve It has a variety of rare and common species of plants and animals including the Nicobar scrubfowl, the Edible-nest Swiftlet, the Nicobar Long-tailed Macaque, saltwater crocodile, Malayan box turtle, and the reticulated python.

Car Nicobar is the headquarters of Nicobar District. It is blessed with mesmerizing beaches that’ll take your breath away. The Nicobari huts, built on stilt, with a wooden ladder, are unique to this island.  It takes about roughly 16 hours by sea from Port Blair.
